Just got back from the wedding ...

Congratulations Paul and Jess (otherwise known as Enviably Beautiful People).

Am sitting in wedding finery checking email and other such mundane things before going to the reception. Have also given the cat a pill ... he has an abcess from a cat fight that has flared up again, and two little drains were inserted into his head to carry away the ... um ... stuff. They look like two straws in an icky milkshake.

In other news, I have done no work whatsoever this week, apart from a little research. My plan is to start in earnest (again) on Monday. I do have to take the cat to the vet that morning (AGAIN), but otherwise I should be able to ease into some sort of routine. I have set up a workspace upstairs, away from the television and the fridge, which I think will help.

Sorry for the long silence over the festive season ... happy new year to the faceless millions (or dozens ... or, realistically, the five people who read this), and I hope that your resolutions are doable.
