My first Fourth of July parade!

Back to Belton! This was a fantastic way to spend our first American Independence Day - it had a real down-home flavour and featured floats sponsored by local businesses, organisations and civic groups, as well as military men and women and local officials. Even the mayor drove his car in the parade! It was, and pardon the cheesiness, really heart-warming to see how many families and friends spread quilts on the grass to laugh and wave and cheer on the parade. I felt really lucky to be there.

How cute are you in that hat and dress? Very! Am very jealous of all that sunshine. We could do with some in NZ.
