Last night I was introduced to a fantastic Austin band - White Ghost Shivers. It's hard to describe their style - it's a sort of bathtub gin mix of vaudeville, hillbilly, comedy, swing and ... well, that's probably enough. They're pretty bawdy, as well, which I always appreciate! The outdoor concert was part of the Music Under the Star (the giant Texas star sculpture) series at the museum, and it had such a lovely atmosphere. Lots of dancing, lots of laughter, lots of happy dogs out for the evening with their owners! (And the odd slightly sozzled person singing along very loudly. Might have been me.).
If you're interested in the band, you can find their website
here - I really like their music and, if you're a vintage fan, you probably will too.

They sound fun! I have always liked retro acts like that. There really should be more of them!
I think you'd like them! And I agree.
Just returned home from Lago Vista, outside Austin...in case you don't get told regularly: your eyes are gorgeous!
My friend and I did venture into the City one day to visit a botanica (Botanica Oggun= voodoo shop) *heehee! , visit a Mexican Bakery, and have a nice lunch ~ all Near Ben White blvd.

That's so sweet of you, Hope - thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed Austin.
