A day down in SoCo

LOML and I had an entire weekend free, for the first time in ages, and so we decided to head down south for a day of shopping!

Fran's was just great - a proper greasy spoon, with burgers in greaseproof paper and Formica tables. Loved it!

We bought our dessert at Big Top Soda Shop. When I was little and staying with my grandparents in England, my grandmother would give me a pound to buy pick 'n' mix at the local sweet shop. I spent ages choosing my selection of gummy worms and gobstoppers. Now I can do the same at Big Top - I don't think I'm ever going to outgrow it.

And, after exploring the South Congress antique shops, a pair of large, brass cat bookends expressed a desire to come home with me.

I have never been to Fran's. Looks good and smells amazing everytime we pass by. On Sat I was at Home Slice and had Big Top for dessert too :)
