I just got home from a small commemoration at my daughters' school. We had two minutes silence, the kids all sang a waiata and then half-a-dozen red balloons were released. Each child then walked across the road and placed a flower in the river for the "river of flowers". It was very moving and a great way to remember those we have lost.
