Where I work

It does make a difference, having a dedicated work space. I've struggled to maintain one before, because I've always set up my desk in spare rooms or little office spaces, and then found myself migrating through to the kitchen table or the living room. Now that I have a desk in the main living area, however, I'm finding it much easier to focus. The cats like it, too - it's right behind the sofa, so they can spread themselves out along the back of the seat and glare at me while I work. Kind of a hobby of theirs.

I suppose I like being in the centre of things! (And close to the fridge?)

It's so wonderfully neat! I write on a big desk covered with rubbish (which includes a large jar full of cat biscuits) and it only gets tidied when I really run out of ideas. I wish I was tidy...

Rebecca - I'm afraid I'm a bit of a crazy neat freak! I can't concentrate unless it's organised.

I have my sewing machine set up in my back room away from everything, and I have to admit that keeps from me wanting to sit there and I always wind up carrying my mending into the living room instead if I possibly can. Being cooped up in a corner is almost like punishment! You're writing/crafting/sewing, not in jail haha :D

I am trying to work out what the coloured pencils are for? Somehow they don't seem to figure in my writing process - am I missing out on something here?

Everyone's writing process is different! I'm very visual - I like using lots of colour for my planning.
