Goodness - I'm still a useless blogger, I'm afraid, and probably will be until the end of the month. But, for the past few years, I've posted a review of the past year in January, and it's always really encouraging to look back at the last months of progress. I could do with some encouragement right now! 2012 was a wonderful year for us.
The White Shadow was published!
Our dear friends, Sandhya and Gaurav, were married - and we were lucky enough to be part of their wedding party.
I got more serious about my running, finishing a couple of 5k races and one 10k. Now I'm running 5k a day, and starting to train for the Austin Half-Marathon early next year! (Because I think the full marathon would cause me to explode and die.)
We moved into our first home!
We travelled to New Zealand to see our families and friends ...
My best friend, Caroline, came to visit us in Austin and was here for my birthday!
We went to Hawaii for a wonderful fortnight's holiday.
The White Shadow was nominated for the Dylan Thomas Prize, and I was fortunate enough to travel to Wales and meet the other shortlisted authors. Such an amazing opportunity and a wonderful memory.
I met my family on my father's side for the very first time while we were in Wales - an emotional and wonderful day for us.
I am so blessed, and so thankful.
